「愛貓絕育宣言」

絕育非單不是殘忍的行為，

更莫謂：『剝奪性權益』。

有別於人類有生理、心理的矛盾衝突，動物的性行為純粹係一種一面倒的衝動需要，而非一種享受。荷爾蒙的分泌強悍地鞭策著牠們的中樞神經，司令著牠們的身體必須按期履行天賦「偉大」的繁殖任務。

如是不論客觀形勢如何惡劣、際遇坎坷、景況淒涼……總之雄者南征北討、雌母含辛茹苦同是煩躁不安歷盡辛酸——尤是對於淪落天涯的貓兒，「神性」的天職非單不是銷魂快樂的溫存，簡直係漫長的煎熬，一項永無休止的沉重擔戴。

有別於其他野生動物，5000年以來人類把貓兒帶來社會，溶入環境成為家伴，我們對貓兒的承擔是責無旁貸的。絕了育的貓兒擺脫了情慾的枷鎖，自然更加活潑健康長壽了。

絕育——對牠們來說是一種解脫，

 是人類給予貓兒一種文明的關愛。

“Manifesto of Feline Desexing”

Desexing is not a cruel act, you cannot say it deprive one’s sexual right!

When it comes to sexuality, unlike the contradictions and conflicts between the human’s physiological and psychological needs, animal’s sexual behavior is just a single sided natural instinct, driven by the hormones released within their body.  The hormones control their sexual drives, dictating their bodies to perform the duty of the “great” reproduction.

No matter how bad the situation is, how ill- fated the moment is, or how difficult the circumstance is… the males must fight for their continuation and females have to endure the hardships and deprivations to certain the survival of their species.  The experience, they go through are both disturbing and agonizing.  Above all, to the cats, the duty of reproduction is not a sexual enjoyment. It is an never ending suffering and responsibility.

For about 5000 years, different from other animals, cats were brought into our home and become part of our society and part of our lives. That is why we must take up the responsibility for the well-being. Desexed cats are healthier, livelier, and happier.  They also tend to live longer because they don’t need to worry about the sexual burdens anymore.

絕育的觀念係先進國家先至有。你睇第三世界落後地方食都無得食，莫講話動物，人都無絕育啦。

十幾年前香港養動物都無話絕育啦，但依家愛護動物意識己經高漲�鬫n多。

新世紀新一代── 養貓+絕育已經係一個package。

Like vaccinations and preventive medicines, the idea of birth control only exists in the advanced countries.  In the third world, where people don’t even have enough to eat, birth control is not available even to man, not to mention animals. More than 10 years ago, desexing and vaccinations for animals were unheard of in Hong Kong. Now, the animal awareness has been uplifted a lot. The level of knowledge in pet caring for the Hong Kong society is reasonable. For the New century, new generation – CAT FANCY + DESEXING is already a package.

“Spaying/neutering a cat is a must?”  “Sure!!”

「冇咁多錢，唯有捉D貓女去做手術先啦。」好多熱心貓友如是說。

流浪貓絕育，女貓該優先？

不對！雄貓與雌貓的交配比例為1 : 4。

母貓「拖男帶女」慘況沒錯人皆盡見，但對於流浪貓幾何級數（一年四胎，一胎四隻）的繁殖速度而言，雄貓方是真正的罪魁禍首！

“We will bring the female for the operation first because we don’t have enough money right now.” That is how most people think.

Desexing for stray cats, females go first?

No! This is not right. The tragic picture of a female cat with a bunch of young kittens can be seen by everybody,. But the real culprit for the rapid multiplication of stray cats is the males.

 雄貓係天生霸權主義者Male Cat is a Natural Dictator

平日各據地盤，發情期間活躍非常，於其勢力範圍走動的貓女均為旗下「後宮佳麗」，凡有「過界者」﹙情敵﹚定遭驅趕，激起爭戰。

Each male cat has its own territory. Any female that roams in a male’s territory will consider a part of that male’s harem. In the sexually active period, any other males entering the territory will be considered as an “invader” and chased out.

 雌貓：母系社會的守護者Females, the keeper of matriarchal society

雌貓佔地盤，僅為糊口而已。只求滿足自己和BB們的生計就樂得「安份」了。在求偶的過程中，發情的貓女亦只是引吭叫春「引狼入室」，自己則甚少遠離生活圈子去「攪攪震」。

The reason for the females to keep territories is just to make sure the survival for themselves and their young ones. Otherwise they are pretty content to stay in their own territories. In the male seeking periods, they usually stay in their territories and make sounds to attract males.

 一胎四寶三個爸爸One pregnancy, Four Kittens, Three Fathers

  雌雄交配比例為1 : 4。

若區內的雌貓不能滿足雄貓的需求的話，雄貓則不惜西征北討駕幸無遠弗屆。（所以好多沒有絕育的雄貓都會失蹤！皆因找貓女私奔越走越遠！）由於雄者縱橫四海好「威猛」，一胎四寶有三個爸爸的情況可說是司空見慣呢！處理流浪貓絕育問題，當然係男女平等囉！

The ratio of mating between males and females is 1:4

If the females within the territory cannot satisfy the male's needs, the male will leave the territory and roam into other areas. (That is why there are so many un-neutered males suddenly disappearing: gone for their females every one.)  Since males don’t stay in one area, the “One pregnancy, Four Kittens, Three Fathers” scenario is very common. When it comes to desexing for the stray cats, equality between the sexes of course!.

《賴尿蝦》

問「唔想要隻貓咯，我真係攪佢唔掂，周圍賴尿，以前細細個佢都唔係咁，依家好曳，響梳化賴尿、響書檯份報紙上面賴尿、響我張床上面賴尿、連個公事包�堶掖ㄕ釦縑A總之成屋都係尿！」

答 發情的雄貓撒尿標誌勢力範圍，向天下的情敵示威，不容其他對手入侵自家地盤（爭女）。

絕了育的雄貓不再有撤尿求偶的行為。

< Peeing Cat >

Q  “I give up! I can’t take more of this; I don’t want this cat anymore.  He pees everywhere. He never did that when he was younger.  Now, urine is everywhere, on the sofa, on the desks, on my bed, even in my brief case.”

A  During sexually active period, male cats have the tendency of urinating everywhere to mark their territories.  It is a way to tell other males to keep out and keep away from the females in the area.

Neutered males will not have the need to do this.

《巴之閉》

問 「至憎D貓喇，晚晚街頭巷尾鬼殺咁嘈，用水潑佢走�髐S番轉頭，真係想用槍射佢！」

答“ 情不自控”叫春，擾人清夢，「壞形象」引來誤解，甚至招惹虐畜暴行。（唔係佢�_想�部A其實佢�_都好痛苦——貓貓至忌濕身，一著涼就危險了。） 

絕了育的雌貓不再有叫春的行為。

< You think you own the neighborhood? >

Q   “I just hate it!  Those stupid cats make noises in my neighborhood every night.  I chased them away by splashing water at them.  But they keep coming back.  I just want to shoot them.”

A  They couldn’t help themselves in making those noises because that’s how the females attract the males’ attention. Their needs to mate had earned them a bad image and misunderstanding.  This may eventually leads to animal vulnerable when get wet, because they are easily get sick when wet.)

Spayed female cats do not have the need to make those mating calls.

《播疾病》

問 「D貓幾惡呀，成日追來追去打打殺殺，由騎樓“開片”開到上天台！」

答 南征北討求偶、爭風呷醋廝殺街頭往往是傳染病的源頭，特別係FIV貓

愛滋，往往自傷口血液傳播。

絕了育的貓兒不再擾攘暴躁 滋生事端。

< Spread Diseases >

Q   “Those cats are bad.  Days and nights, they just chasing and fighting each other, from the first floor to the top of the building.”

A  Cats’ fight is just a way of mating ritual.  However, fighting may lead to transmitted diseases, especially FIV the cat version of HIV.  It is usually transmitted through wounds.

Desexedcats will be less ferity and thus causing fewer disturbances and fights.

《走�魖苤n

問 「貓都係養唔熟，幾鍚佢都係假，一隻係咁，兩隻又係咁，咪一樣走�Z去！」

答  南征北討搵貓女私奔係本能。一年四胎，一胎四隻幾何級數繁殖下去，流浪貓的悲劇由此起。

絕了育的雄貓不再心猿意馬更宜室宜家。

< The Cat is Gone!! >

Q  “Cats are like that, no matter how much you care for them, they will eventually run away.  Mine first one was like that and so is the second one.”

A   Running away to look for a mate is a male cat’s natural instinct.  That is how 4 pregnancies in a year and each pregnancy 4 kittens happened.  That’s how stray cats created.

Neutered males will not run away, because they no longer have the need to mate.

《衛生與健康》

問 「淨係養男貓或者淨養女貓就唔駛咁煩喇，“起水”時候關籠咪得囉！」

答   除了家居“污染”和聲音“污染”的問題外，由得愛貓長年大月“乾煎”，又煩又躁又何愛之有？還有，男貓有睪丸癌、女貓有卵巢疾病，但絕育手術後的貓貓則全部免疫！

沒有絕育的貓隻患乳癌機會多7倍 ！

< Sanitary and Health >

Q   “Just keep either a male or a female will have fewer worries, because during sexually active period (oestrus), I just lock it in the kettle and that will solve the problem.”

A   Keep the cats locked up will not stop them from “making noises” and “the messes”.  Beside, we cannot solve the problems by keeping them lock up.  Also there is a chance that the male may get testicular cancer, and the female get breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer.  An operation will solve all these problems.

Cats that are not spayed/neutered are 7 times more likely to contact breast cancer.

《廉價勞工》

問 「佢地話貓絕�Z育唔治鼠喎，唔捉老鼠佢地話唔知養黎做乜喎。雜貨舖、茶餐廳、街坊街里個個都咁講喎，真唔知佢地係真相信定假藉口？」

答   如果捕獵係貓兒天性，這天性亦不會因絕育而改變，這是貓貓「冇心情煩躁，郁D就發脾氣」、「冇成日爭風呷醋打架」。總之「冇以前咁惡」所聯繫出來的偏見假象而已。

捕獵與絕育無關，養貓治鼠並無不妥，

但「養貓唔絕育」就係一個不負責任不合格�鵅u主人」！

< Cheap Labors >

Q   “They say spaying and neutering their cats don’t catch mice. If they catch mice, why do I keep them?  That’s what every in the neighborhood said.  I don’t know if I should believe them.”

A   If hunting is a cat’s nature, then the instinct of hunting will not go away even if it is made spayed/neutered. The false sense of that they are not that fierce anymore is because they don’t have to need to fight for mates anymore.

Keeping a cat for the reason of catching mice is not wrong at all.

But keeping a cat and not spay/neuter it is an irresponsible cat owner

《絕育殘忍》

問 「噫，絕育咁殘忍，女貓仲要開肚呀，好似好危險咁。以前睇D武俠小說呢，話D太監閹割左之後陰陽怪氣，性格大變。唔知D貓會唔會咁呢？仲有，D手術究竟安唔安全呢？」

答   絕育乃現代愛貓必經之路，醫學倡明，絕育係流水作業之小手術而已幾乎99%安全的。

動物不似得人類身心層次可以分割認知，故此兩者並不存在矛盾痛苦。絕育之後得到徹底的解脫。

   撇除麻醉時間，絕育手術:

< Desexing is inhumane and ecologically unsound >

Q   “God, Desexing is very cruel.  Female cats go through the operation have to make surgery.  I don’t know if it is safe at all.   I don’t know if their personality changes after the operation.  I like the way my cats are right now.”

A  Desexing is a way for the present day loving cats.  With our medical advances, spaying/neutering operation is just a small procedure.  It is almost 99% safe.

Human suffer because they don’t have the strength to do what their hearts had desired.  Animals, on the other hand, don’t have the psychological level to know the different between contradictions and suffering.  After Spaying and Neutering, their sexual tension will be released.  Both body and soul will be completely free.

領養是慈善，買賣係生意。

領養雖然冇Walk-in and Buy咁方便，但貓貓十幾年的命運就會因著你三思的仁慈如是完全改寫了。

Adoption is charity, selling is business.

Adoption does not have the convenience of “Walk-in and Buy”, but the life of a cat will change forever because of your good will.
