The Hong Kong Cat Salvation Army (HKCSA) is set up by a group of enthusiastic cat fanciers who work for the stray, abandoned and abused cats for almost 10 years. It (is) started from an Internet homepage for calling upon people to rescue and adopt homeless cats in December 1997, and registered as a charitable organisation in April 1999. |

The mission of the HKCSA is ˇ§Cat Lovers, Love Their Cats, Love Othersˇ¦ Cats, Love Nobodyˇ¦s Catsˇ¨. All volunteers of the HKCSA are willing to devote their time and effort in the welfare of the stray, abandoned and abused cats. They are involved in rescuing, rehoming, care and fostering, delivery to and from vet clinics, socialising, and other operation and administration works. The ultimate goals of the HKCSA are to establish a harmonious human-cat relationship and promote humanity in the world through the love of cats. |

The telephone hotline aims to provide basic information, guidance, counselling and support to members, cat lovers and the publics. The HKCSA welcomes enquiries related to any topics of cats, such as adoption of stray and abandoned cats, taking care of injured and sick, feeding of newborn orphans, etc.
Finding a loving home for homeless cats has always been the HKCSAˇ¦s first priority after starting their service. ˇ§Cat-lovers donˇ¦t buy, Adoption is vogueˇ¨. With careful investigation on adopters, the HKCSA hopes to help them find the most suitable cats being their companions. The HKCSA also provides nursing and follow-up services by the volunteers before and after the adoption, to ensure both of them have a better life.
The HKCSA would give assistance or support to some stray cat shelters to provide a temporary home for the stray, abandoned and abused cats, including subsidy (subsidies) for desexing, keeping cat records and providing food and basic care to them.
The TAR scheme provides a means for stray cats to be sterilized to prevent them from multiplying in their population. It aims to help reduce the misery and mischief arising from the large population of stray cats, and protect them from human cruelty as a result of environmental contamination.
The HKCSA would promote their mission and activities as well as cat culture through a local pet magazine column ˇ§Cat People Cat Worldˇ¨.
The HKCSA strives to educate the public through visits to districts and schools, to promote the concept of ˇ§Responsible Cat Ownershipˇ¨. Through teaching the children and families to love cats, they can learn to love the world so as to build a better future for both humans and cats. |
